Hello! =petits-bonheurs here for :iconfeedbackfrenzy:'s contest!

Disclaimer: I am not a professional, I am just a hobbyist photographer :aww:

Let's get started!

Vision: :star::star::star::star:

I think you had a really great idea here, very interesting. I think you're doing great in terms of concepts. I can't tell if you used fire of some other substance, but whatever is inside the fireplace is rather interesting.

Originality: :star: :star: :star: :star-half:

The actual fireplace scene isn't 100% original, but the way you have executed it with the stuff going on in the fireplace makes it more original. Good job! :)

Technique: :star: :star: :star-half:

Oh, that looks so mean :tears: I can explain!!!

So first, I think the shot would benefit if you were straight-on to the fireplace. I can see you took the photo slightly to the right, but if you were right in the middle and made sure your camera was pointing straight at the middle, it would improve the aesthetics of the photo. Also, I think there's too much black surrounding the photo. A crop would be good. Finally, I think that the fireplace towards the top is a bit underexposed. Providing a bit of extra light would probably help! (I actually disagree with the critiquer below me, as I think the fireplace could benefit from being lighter at the top, not darker.)

Impact: :star: :star: :star: :star-half:

For me, the overall concept of the photo is really good. But the technique, in my opinion, needs a bit of work, and kind of detracts from the photo. Don't lose hope - you obviously have talent and very cool ideas. Just pay attention to the angle of the shot and how dark the photo is, and you'll be golden!

So I really hope that this critique helped you, and that I wasn't too harsh. Feel free to agree and disagree with me anytime, call me out on being rude, as sometimes I don't know how to word things ^^; Enjoy your day and keep taking photos!
