Hi! This is a critique from a Feedback Frenzy participant. :D

The best thing about this photo is its composition and the use of shapes. The placement of the two big containers is very nicely contrasted with the linear pattern of the surface on which they are placed, and the linear pattern of the background acts as a subtle lead away from the chili box toward the various spice box at the bottom.

The variety of spices presented in its different forms is quite the eye catcher. I especially like how there is a single chili in the top-most small container of the big container at the bottom. It serves as a nice transition point from the box full of chili at the top to the variety at the bottom.

The array of small container of spices excels, again, at emphasizing the shapes presented. The camera angle is most excellent in maximizing the impact of shapes. Shooting this shot from the top gives the viewers a clear look at all the spices, and it retains the perfect circles of all the containers in an elegant, uniformed fashion. Very nicely done.

The lighting of this piece is perhaps the weaker part. The entire piece is a bit dark. This is most evident in the brilliant colours of some of the spices look a bit shadowed. To be specific, the light intensity of the two sides are unbalanced. The left is is quite a bit darker than the right, which cases the chili and the oil at the top to lose some of its colour, and similarly, the left-most small container of the big box at the bottom is hard to see clearly. As too with the background. The colour of the wooden material just above the bottom box is a rich, warm and vibrant brown, but the same material at the bottom left corner of the picture is lacking the same brilliance in colour. This could have been improved if a diffused light source is added to the left side; something to watch for the next time.

But overall, this is an extremely lovely piece. I really love the composition and the emphasize on the variety of shapes.
